EZ with some of his favorite toys at 12½ years.
EZ was one of those dogs that touched the hearts of everyone that knew him. His name was appropriately, he was near to perfection. Living with him was a joy since he was always happy and everything you asked of him was EASY just like his name. You could hold on to his lead with the tip of your little finger to control him. Anyone owning a bloodhound knows that this is very rare in this breed. I only know of one thing he ever chewed up in his entire life, even as a puppy. He loved cats and they loved him. One of our favorite sights was to watch him at the door, with the cat rubbing on him. The cat would stand on his hind feet to stretch up to his face to snuggle against him, creating a picture of pure love through the door glass. He never pounded on the door like the others, instead he would patiently wait until you asked him to come inside. A gentleman in every sense of the word. His love for toys never faded over the years and to watch him with them was pure entertainment. He made sure he was constantly surrounded by stuffed toys, lots of soft fuzzy ones. One time I counted how many he had carried into his crate… 62!! He looked like ET hiding in the closet instead of EZ in his crate. He took ill in September with cancer, he was one of the hardest for us to lose. We will always be reminded of him through his wonderful prodigy. Missed sorely by Sherry and Dick Duling, Jim Adams, his many friends, and all of our Bloodhounds and the cat too!
